Then we went to Menemsha Beach. We caught spider crabs for the first time this year.

The lady crab's back legs look like a paddle. They have paddles on their back legs to help them swim. Lady crab's are very aggressive, so be careful. They go under the sand. If you see two tiny dots in the sand, that is probably their eyes sticking out. You may also find them looking for prey on top of the sand.

This is a female green crab. The female green crabs have red on their belly.

You are quite the crab hunter! What do the lady crabs eat?
Lady crabs eat small clams, minnows, crabs, and dead squid. They eat both dead and alive food.
